Our History

Our journey began with a dream: building strong Indonesian Human Resources. We believe that with strong Human Resources, Indonesia can achieve a brighter future.

In 2012, we started from scratch. We only had a small rented apartment and a group of people who believed in the same dream. But we had a strong determination to realize our dream. We worked hard to build a dedicated and experienced team. Our team consists of psychologists and strategists who have extensive expertise and experience in the field of Human Resources. We are committed to delivering measurable impact and helping organizations achieve sustainable excellence.

Our knowledge and experience is backed by over 18 years of comprehensive research on Culture, Talent and Change. We have studied how culture, talent and change can affect organizational performance. This knowledge helps us develop effective and targeted solutions.

The Start

Initially registered as PT Tjitra Selaras Sampoerno, we later partnered with Singapore’s Human Capital Leadership Institute. Our work involved interviewing business leaders from Indonesia, Singapore, and China. Using a grounded theory approach, we developed a leadership model for Indonesia’s top international leaders, which we shared with academics and business professionals.

The Pioneer

We’ve assembled a pioneer team focused on organizational transformation for key clients. We launched the Global Indonesian Network (GI-Net), a platform fostering dialogue between academics and business practitioners worldwide. Our flagship book, “Pemimpin dan Perubahan”, emphasizes Indonesian change leadership models, leveraging insights from successful business leaders.

The Kick – Off

We’ve broadened our services to include State-Owned Enterprises, multinational corporations, and family businesses. Our growth is centered on organizational transformation and talent enhancement with premier clients. Besides serving existing clients, we’ve launched initiatives to bolster our corporate image and consultancy capabilities. Our book, “Local Wisdom for Global Excellence: New Indonesian Horizons in the Global Era,” presents a study on 7 standards of Indonesian culture through a study of Indonesian culture, worker behavior, and leaders. The book illustrates how these characteristics interact with each other when working in cross-cultural teams.

The Rejuvenation

We reinforce our bedrock through the rejuvenation of our Vision, Mission, and Values (ViMiVa). Our project portfolio was enhanced with an emphasis on leadership development and the exploration of learning cultures. This enables companies to consolidate resources for performance enhancement and sustainable excellence.

The Growth

We’ve diligently developed a scalable leadership program for a major Indonesian state-owned enterprise, in collaboration with HR expert, Bob Aubrey. We introduced a fresh concept for future leaders and released a book, “Be Global: Kiat Sukses Berkompetisi Global”. The publication, a result of an 18-year study, shares success stories and lessons from leaders who have excelled in cross-cultural careers, highlighting individual traits, mindsets, and vital global competencies.

Kristina Aryanti

Principal Consultant

Kristina Aryanti is a distinguished Industrial Organizational Psychologist and a seasoned consultant with vast experience in spearheading Talent, Leadership, and Organizational Assessment/Development projects across a range of industries. She has a proven track record in developing and co-creating programs, systems, and tools, often starting from the preliminary stages. Kristina has been involved in international applied research and large scale organizational diagnostics. As a committed people developer, she believes her core strength lies in understanding others and facilitating their growth.

Hora Tjitra

Founder & Managing Partner

Dr. Tjitra is an accomplished entrepreneur, strategist, and cross-boundary psychologist. He earned his Doctorate in Philosophy in cross-cultural psychology and strategic management from Regensburg University, Germany. He also holds certifications in Strategic Management from McKinsey & Co, Italy/Germany, and HR Management from INSEAD, Singapore/France.

With an impressive tenure of fourteen years in Germany, Dr. Tjitra held accountability for global diversity and business expansion in Asia. He also spearheaded the management practice of a leading HR consulting firm in Germany. Demonstrating remarkable prowess in his field, he was appointed as an Associate Professor of Applied Psychology at one of Asia’s most esteemed universities, Zhejiang University, China, at just 34 years of age.

Dr. Tjitra resided in China for nine years before establishing Tjitra & Associates in 2008. Since 2014, he has been operating from bases in both Indonesia and China.
